Need to transcribe your Google Meet calls? There are a couple of extensions that can transcribe the audio from your call.
Extensions that Transcribe Google Meet Calls
Otter
Otter.ai have launched a Chrome Extension that transcribes audio from your Google Meet in real time. You will need an account with Otter, but the free account can transcribe up to 600 minutes each month.
Once you have added the Chrome Extension, you simply click on the extension during the meet call and then press record. The notes from the meeting are recorded back to Otter. The extension also offers real time captions (but Google Meet already has its own) - although Otter also offers the ability to change the font size on captions.
Note - From what we can tell from their website Otter is GDPR Compliant (for those in Europe), but not COPPA Compliant (for US Schools) - but you should carry out your own checks before using this tool (given this is recording audio in meetings you should ensure you have permission before using it).
Tactiq
Tactiq also have a Chrome Extension that transcribes the audio from your call. You will need an account with Tactiq and free accounts have 30 suto-save credits per month.
Once you have added the extension a side menu allows you to highlight important parts of the conversation in your notes. Transcripts are saved to a Google Doc.
Tactiq offers a range of languages (in line with those available in Google Meet Captions).
Note - From what we can tell from their website Tatiq is GDPR Compliant (for those in Europe), but not COPPA Compliant (for US Schools) - but you should carry out your own checks before using this tool (given this is recording audio in meetings you should ensure you have permission before using it).
